How Sell Your Closet works

The complete guide, from a real Boston boutique. Sell Your Closet is a service of Designers Circus, dressing Boston for over thirty years.

Selling, step by step

  1. Create a free account. Email and a password, or one tap with Google.
  2. Pick up listing credits. One credit lists one piece: $5 each, five for $20, twelve for $40. There is no commission, ever, so the full sale price is always yours.
  3. Take one clear phone photo of your piece, good light, plain background if you can.
  4. Choose how to list it. Studio styled: we stage your piece on a professional model in a clean catalog shot, and your own photo shows alongside it for honesty. Your photo as-is: your photo is the listing, live in about a minute. Same credit either way.
  5. Every piece is checked. Our automatic inspection screens each upload and gives it an honest condition grade, Like new, Excellent, Good, or Fair, shown on the listing.
  6. Share your closet. You get a personal page with your own link, one-tap sharing to WhatsApp, Facebook and text, and buyers message you directly with questions and offers.

Buying, step by step

  1. Browse freely. No account needed to look around or open any piece.
  2. Read the listing. Studio-styled pieces show two photos, our catalog shot and the seller’s original, plus the condition grade, so you know exactly what you are getting.
  3. Message the seller. A free account (one minute, Google works) lets you send a note and an offer if you like. The seller replies straight to your email or phone.
  4. Meet and pay directly. You two agree on price and handoff, in person around Boston or by mail. Meet somewhere public in the daytime, and remember the Designers Circus boutique at 1 Braintree St, Allston is always a welcome safe spot for an exchange.

The promises

No commission, ever. We charge for listings, never a cut of your sale. Every upload screened before it can publish. Honest grades, same eye, same scale, every piece. Real people behind it, at a boutique you can walk into and say hello. Anything else, the Help page answers the common questions and reaches us directly.
